Moffat Weekend
Information about our annual Moffat weekend, an invitation only event for Black Boar members and special guests.
What’s Involved?
An action packed long weekend in the beautiful Scottish Borders! The event features workshops covering many different weapon styles, social activities, official training sessions and assessments, and much more.
It’s an opportunity for historical fencing practitioners from around the world to come together and share their love of swordplay, enjoy good food and drink, socialise and make new friends.
2024 Event
Our 2024 Moffat weekend has now concluded. Participants got to experience a wide range of weapon and martial art styles, including smallsword, rapier, military sabre, falchion and jujutsu! It was great to see so many people attend and celebrate the wonderful art of historical fencing.
A heartfelt thanks to everyone who delivered the excellent workshops, and to our Black Boar chefs for providing delicious meals throughout the weekend. Lastly, a huge congratulations to all IL1 and IL2 candidates who successfully passed their assessments.
We hope to see you all next year!
2025 Details
Planning for the next Moffat weekend will start in early 2025. The event will take place in April or May, with the usual itinerary of historical fencing workshops, social activities and the opportunity to network with others from across the HEMA community.
