Description

Purchase a ticket for the annual Smallsword Symposium, a weekend gathering for historical fencing and HEMA practitioners from all over the world. Held each year in Scotland’s capital city, Edinburgh, it’s the world’s first and largest event dedicated to the art of smallsword. Participants will have the opportunity to duel, network and socialise with the global fencing community!

The ticket fee includes:

  • Access to workshops and free play sessions

  • Dinner on Saturday evening

The event is friendly and informal, and will exclusively focus on smallsword weaponry and treatises. It won’t feature a competitive tournament.

Important Information

  • You must be aged 18 years or over to purchase a ticket and attend the event

  • Tickets must be purchased by the person who is attending the event, and can’t be transferred to someone else

  • You’ll need to provide your own appropriate safety equipment and weapons, but limited school kit is available to borrow on a first come first served basis

  • Beginners who are new to historical fencing are welcome to attend, but may be restricted to workshop participation for safety reasons

  • Tickets don’t include additional expenses, such as travel, accommodation, insurance (unless you’re a Black Boar member), food outwith Saturday’s dinner or drinks

  • Gift vouchers can be used to purchase tickets
